Starbucks is an incredibly popular coffee chain, with drinks ranging from teas to coffees. There are so many drinks that people order daily that baristas have to make. However, they must have drinks that are not their favorite. Whether it’s too much work or just annoying, some drinks are hard to make. 

First, many Starbucks baristas find making frappuccinos the most annoying. This is due to the amount of time it takes to blend all the ingredients and add all the toppings. Additionally, many baristas have shared with the internet that frappuccinos are typically ordered with multiple at a time, which can be very annoying. Baristas hate these drinks when many are ordered because it can disrupt their flow during rush hour. Even though they are delicious, be patient with your drink and try to understand why it may take a little bit longer.

Additionally, baristas do not like making drinks with too many customizations. Like frappuccinos, these complex drinks can take too much time during a busy day and can be hard to remember or explain. The last thing they want is someone taking 5 minutes to order a drink with a long line behind them and a backed-up drive-thru. Also, it can be hard to remember all the things a customer wants in their drink. If they forget something, the customer may get angry which causes more frustration for everyone involved.

Some baristas do not like making hot drinks ‘extra hot’ because they find it dangerous. Hot drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, or macchiatos are made hot, but many customers want them to be hotter. In this process, the milk would be steamed to a whopping 180 degrees Fahrenheit. This can make the baristas nervous even though it isn’t too difficult to make. When steaming the milk to that temperature, there is a higher risk for the barista to burn themselves, so many do not like making drinks ‘extra hot’.

Secret menu drinks are another one that they hate making. Customers may see a drink on TikTok or other social media, and ask for it. However, that doesn’t mean the barista knows what goes in that drink because baristas say there isn’t a secret menu at all. They find it frustrating when the customers don’t know what it is made of, so if you want to order a ‘secret menu’ drink, try to learn what is included in it and ask the barista kindly. Try not to get too annoyed if they don’t know what you want based on its ‘secret menu’ name.

All in all, if you order any of these drinks, it is okay. But, be patient with your baristas and appreciate the work they do. Remember they are trying their best to get your drink out and serve other customers, so be kind to the baristas and enjoy your drink!
