Chick Fil A Sunday Closing

Chick Fil A Sunday Closing

Many of us have wondered why Chick Fil A is closed every Sunday and many of us have different ideas on why. Well here’s why Chick Fil A is closed on Sundays, Truett Cathy the founder of Chick Fil A  and his brother Ben Cathy first made the decision to close on Sundays in 1946 when he opened his  restaurant in Hapeville, Georgia. Working in restaurants that were open 24/7  the Cathy brothers saw the importance of closing on Sundays so that them and their employees could have a day to rest, enjoy time with their families and loved ones or worship if they choose, this is a practice which is still continued today through all locations. Chick-Fil-A mixed with their belief that it is more important to value their values than serving another meal on Sunday.

Though this tradition continues today it means major loss in profits for the company showing how dedicated they really are to this important moral.  Despite being closed on Sundays a single Chick fil A location earns about $19,442 per day resulting in an annual profit of over $7 million. With thousands of locations throughout the US the franchise makes millions of dollars daily. According to 24/7  Wall Street, a financial news and opinion website, the franchise missing out on 14% of possible open business days likely costs this food chain more than $1 billion.
