Have you ever felt better after going outside? Being outside has a positive impact on people and their mental health. When you are outside it restores and strengthens your mental capacities. If you stay inside all day that can cause you to have restlessness and anxiety throughout your life.

When people are outside their mood changes from feeling lonely and depressed to being happy and joyful and that is because it relieves stress from the body. When you are in nature your body realizes that it is able to release all the tension because of the peacefulness outside. Staying inside all day makes your body and mind feel sad and unmotivated to do anything because your levels of serotonin are lowering which triggers your mood swings and higher your rate of depression. The wellness benefits of the great outdoors quote,” There are many mental wellness benefits associated with being outside in green spaces, such as the lower risk of depression and faster psychological stress recovery. Studies have shown that being in nature can restore and strengthen our mental capacities, increasing focus and attention.” Being outside helps with behavior and it also improves sleep in kids. Being outside helps people connect with their friends, family, and community because you are actually seeing them in person and not just online the entire day.  

Overall, going outside decreases the amount of stress and depression in your body and it increases your happiness. It allows your body to let go for a little bit and relax. This Causes loneliness because if you are isolated inside all day and not getting out to make connections with your friends and family you aren’t being around anyone you will get lonely.
