Mummified monkey

Traveler at Boston Logan International claimed that there was dried fish in their bag. But upon further examination agents found mummified remains including four monkey heads. This happened on Thursday at a security screening for passengers an officer found the dead monkeys in the luggage belonging to the traveler this traveler had just got back from recently traveling to the U.S. from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Raw or minimally processed meat from wild animals is not allowed to enter the U.S. because of health concerns it can carry germs that may cause illnesses. The traveler carried about 8 pounds of bushmeat. They marked for destruction according to the CBP.

Agents have been finding a variety of different meats in 2022 it was charred bat in 2019 they found around 32 pounds of rat meat.
