Broom vs Mop

Broom vs Mop

Researchers state that when cleaning hardwood floors a mop is more beneficial than a broom because the broom causes more dust to fly into the air.

This is because experts state that the bristles on the average broom have bristles that have a plastic and rubber feeling which flicks them into the air. Furthermore, when someone uses a broom the bristles have the potential to scratch or damage the finish on hardwood floors.

Depending on the type of floor being cleaned, a dry mop is beneficial for picking up dirt and any type of pet hair. Also, a dry mop doesn’t just push the dirt and debris around like a broom but attracts dirt to the bottom of the mop. A wet mop soaks up chemicals and dirt into the mop. But if there isn’t time to take out a mop, and a broom is on hand, a broom will do the job.

In conclusion, a mop is more useful than a broom but if you’re in a hurry the broom will work!

Hi! I'm Bronwyn Wolfram and I'm in 6th grade. One interesting fact about myself is that I moved to Spain for my 5th grade year. In my free time I like to shop online and play volleyball because they give me a break to get lost in the activity. My favorite thing to write about is funny and interesting articles because they are fun to write and fun to watch people's reactions after reading them.
