The+Rise+of+Dominic+Fike

Dominic Fike is an alternative hip-hop artist and actor who has collaborated with Justin Beiber, Brockhampton, and Remi Wolf. Born on December 30th, 1995, Dominic Fike grew up in Naples Florida, he has a younger brother and sister and one older brother. Raised by mostly absent parents who struggled with heroin addiction, his success was driven by his need to support his family.

Fike’s difficult family situation shows up in multiple songs: “Lookin’ for somebody different ’cause my daddy was a pimp My mama had her issues but I miss her anyway.” And in his popular song, Mama’s Boy: ”Where did my parents go? (Oh, oh) I’m not in Italy They like vacation homes much more than they love me”

While on house arrest for assaulting a police officer, Dominic Fike released his first debut album Don’t Forget About Me on SoundCloud in 2016. Landing him a 3-4 million dollar deal, his first album was the start of his career. His top song is Babydoll with 326,412,645 monthly listeners. In 2018, his song 3 Nights, hit the top of the charts in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. Fike currently has 18.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Dominic Fike’s acting career started in 2019 when he starred as “Elliot” in the popular show Euphoria. However, Fike has struggled with a drug addiction which made coming to the show difficult as the show is mainly about drugs. He often showed up high to the set and was high during scenes they filmed. Fike was almost kicked off for this reason. Dominic Fike performed “Elliot’s Song” with actor Zendaya on the show in season 2. He also dated fellow co-star, Hunter Schafer for a year and a half before the couple broke up in July of 2023. Although Dominic Fike had a rocky start to his acting career, he has appeared in other movies such as Little Death and Earth Mama.
