Taylor Swift: Then and Now

Taylor+Swift%3A+Then+and+Now

Taylor Swift started out as a country folk singer, but now she is one of the biggest pop stars in America. Taylor Swift originally signed with Big Machine Records in 2005. Her albums Taylor Swift and Fearless were country albums. Taylor’s songs “You Belong With Me,” “Teardrops on My Guitar,” and “Love Story” were neither country nor pop, and they kicked off her career as a country pop artist.

In her next two albums, “Speak Now” and “Red,” she experimented with rock and electronic sounds after her first top 100 hit, “We Are Never Getting Back Together,” came out. She made the change of style from country to pop and really kicked off her career as a pop star around the world.

In 2018, she signed with Republic Records, and her album LOVER came out as her first pop album. After Love, she experimented with indie folk sounds in her albums “Folklore” and “Evermore.” She also tried subdued electronic sounds in “Midnights.” She then re-recorded four albums she labeled Taylor’s version after a fight with Big Machine.

Taylor Swift is now one of the most famous names in pop culture and has come a long way from “Taylor Swift,” and now with her new album coming out, we can’t help but wonder what sounds she will incorporate. From folksy to pop, Taylor Swift has changed and adapted to become the pop star we know and love today.

Taylor Swift’s change from country to pop was, in my opinion, the best thing for her music. She was a good country singer, but even when she was a country singer, a certain aspect of her music always seemed like it was destined for pop culture.
