Two teenage boys were pronounced dead the night of March 19, 2023 at Copper Mountain, CO because they were sledding in a half pipe and landed on hard ice causing severe trauma. 

The teens supposedly rode tandem down the half pipe and when they hit a snowbank at the end they catapulted off of their sleds and landed on hard ice which immediately caused blunt force trauma. Despite immediate medical attention the teens were pronounced dead on the scene. 

The teenage kids were natives from illinois. The entire team at Copper Mountain is deeply saddened by this tragic incident. Their most sincere apologies go out to the affected families and friends.
