While many people are drawn to large cities because of their many opportunities and bustling lifestyles, others prefer to live in small towns because of their ability to reduce stress.
Small towns reduce stress because the crime rate is much lower. Since the population is much lower than in a big city, many of the residents are familiar with each other and a lot of the news around the town. This makes residents feel safer and more comfortable walking alone, which would be risky in a big city.
Another way small towns reduce stress is because of their lower living prices. Since there is less competition for housing in small towns, the prices are lower and more affordable despite inflation.
Finally, small towns have much less traffic because of the less dense population. This makes it easier to drive places a lot faster than you would be able to in a big city and residents can spend less time on the road.
