Russell Wilson’s Debut With the Denver Broncos

Russell Wilson’s Denver Broncos debut ends in a loss. In the Monday Night Football game on September 12, 2022, the Broncos lost a 17-16 nail-biter against the Seahawks at Lumen Field in Seattle. Emotions were high because Wilson was playing against his former team. Wilson played a decade for the Seahawks and beat his future team in the Super Bowl, with numerous other records before getting traded to the Broncos in early 2022. Russell Wilson passed for 340 yards that game, with 1 insane 67-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. That was the only Broncos touchdown of the game. Broncos kicker Brandon McManus tallied 10 points and made 3 of his 3 field goal attempts before he missed the game-winning field goal. But for the Seahawks, quarterback Geno Smith was the day’s hero. He passed for 195 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also completed 23 of his 28 pass attempts.
