This year’s drama play here at McAuliffe International is based on the 1971 Willy Wonka by Mel Stuart. Willy Wonka is very popular and is known for the creative candies they come out with. Willy Wonka is a movie about a little boy named Charlie, he wins a golden ticket and goes to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory and has a crazy adventure with his grandpa.
Blake Slater, Violete in the play likes her part. We asked about her overall experience and she said it was very good, she has such a fun time with her friends. Griffin Zeiger, Willy Wonka, feels very excited but a little worried because they have lots of different roles, and if they mess up, it could ruin the scene. Lulu Stewart, Mike TV, thinks that the directors are doing a good job because they always correct everyone and they are always helping people. She thinks that people should go see their play because they have amazing actors and there are funny scenes and a surprise. Sebastian Garces likes being the main Oompa Loompa because it’s not a huge role but they still have fun roles, they feel like they can have lots of fun while acting!
That’s the great thing about drama here at McAuliffe! We work very hard to get our play perfect! But everyone always has fun and drama never seems to fail them! All the plays are well thought out and have amazing props and outfits. When the plays are finished the costumes are amazing and everyone is so excited. Many people who’ve seen it say that it is an amazing play and all the kids did amazing. If you would like to see this play you can purchase tickets on the school website or at the play. The play is Dec 6 – Dec 13th.
