Broncos Break 16-Game Losing Streak to Chiefs

Broncos+Break+16-Game+Losing+Streak+to+Chiefs

The Denver Broncos beat the Kansas City Chiefs to break a 16-game losing streak to the Chiefs. The Broncos won 24-9 to reignite the rivalry between these two teams on October 29th at Empower Field. Russel Wilson threw three touchdown passes, leading the Broncos to their first win against the Chiefs for the first time since 2015. The Broncos were 7-point underdogs heading into the game but were able to shut down Patrick Mahomes’ offense. The Broncos’ defense was dominant. They forced two interceptions, three forced fumbles, and three sacks. The Chiefs were on a six-game win streak heading into the Mile High City and looked like favorites to win the AFC again. The Chiefs still have a good chance of doing so, it’s just that this could be a morale killer for them, and it could be a sign that the Broncos are finally trending in the right direction.

About a month ago, the Broncos defensive coordinator, Vance Joseph, was on the hot seat after his defense allowed 70 points to the Miami Dolphins, but now he couldn’t be more appreciated by Broncos fans. The Broncos are now on their first win streak of the season, and they earned it by beating the Green Bay Packers and the Kansas City Chiefs in the past two weeks. The Broncos are heading into their bye week with a 3-5 record. Their two following games are on primetime against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night and the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night. Just having those two teams in the Broncos’ schedule is going to make it very difficult to make it into the playoffs (if they even have a chance).

No matter what, Broncos fans have been waiting a long time for a win against the Chiefs, and they are hoping that this will be the first time the Broncos have looked like a good team since they had Peyton Manning.
