Pink Day at McAuliffe

Pink+Day+at+McAuliffe

There was a Pink Day at McAuliffe on October 25, 2023 to raise money for breast cancer research. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It started in 1985 as a partnership between the Pharmaceutical Division of Imperial Chemical Industries and the American Cancer Society. The goal of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is to educate women about breast cancer and how to detect early signs of breast cancer. It also gives survivors of breast cancer a chance to share their stories and be acknowledged. During breast cancer awareness month people raise money for breast cancer research.

To participate in Pink Day students would pay $5.00 and then they were able to wear pink clothes to school. All of the money raised would be donated to breast cancer research. In total the school raised a total of $1,035.00, so 207 people participated. Some people wore just a shirt, but some people wore all pink.
