Bullying

Bullying

Some people at McAuliffe International School experience bullying, even teachers. My goal is to tell others about bullying and tell people’s stories in order to try and stop bullying.

Bullying is when another human, either online or in person says something about someone in a mean way. The bully’s purpose is to bring others down for their own good.

While some people shake it off, it affects lots of people. Many people have committed suicide because of what others say. And some bullies have committed suicide because they found out that it doesn’t help them and they just hurt other people for no reason. So next time you say something mean think about how many deaths have been caused by bullying.

One of the teachers Meghan, Bentley – Allen here at McAuliffe International was interviewed on her personal opinion on bullying. She said that when she used to go to Smiley Middle School (which is now McAuliffe) she got bullied there and felt horrible. They said lots of things about her and her brother. She never told anybody about it, making her more self-conscious. She says that lots of students are rude to her here! They curse and treat her like she’s not human. What she did was call their parents and let them know.

A 7th grader named Remmi, says ¨ bullying affects me for a little but then I realized that the bullies don’t deserve to hurt my feelings. The best way to let a bully know that you don’t care is to ignore it or laugh it off. ¨

Edna, a student says that people bully because they are insecure about themselves and some advice she has for people who bully is to not do it because you may think it’s cool but it’s not. All it does is bring others down.

Charlize, another student has advice for people who get bullied. A great artist named Taylor Swift once said, “Shake it off.” Meaning that when people say rude things just remember they are doing it because they don’t feel good about themselves and they don’t deserve to make you feel bad.

Bullying affects everyone’s mental health. The bullies and the bullied. It makes everyone feel bad about themselves and makes us feel like we aren’t enough, the truth is we are all enough and beautiful in our own ways. The things you consider flaws may be beautiful to others! So next time someone says mean things just remember that the only opinion that does matter is yourselves!

I'm Brooke, Bentley, and I'm in 7th grade, A fun fact about me is that I play tennis. Something I do for fun is, I like to walk my dog and go explore with her. I like writing about the school and some of the drama and things that happen at school because I want others to be caught up with everything. I  also like to review books and movies because I want to make sure people aren't wasting their money on a bad movie or book.
