Mandatory Masks for School

Covid-19 is real, but should schools play safe and have masks mandatory again? According to the CDC, “CDC recommends universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status.” But when wearing masks it sometimes becomes difficult to breathe and even learn. Because of this, schools have allowed a break time from masks. But is that 5-10 minute break really enough?

In Guam, Micronesia Their schools have a mask mandate. Students are required to have masks on at all times but there was a request filed to have that mandate taken down and on March 1st, 2023 the mask mandate will be taken down.

Here at McAuliffe, it’s not mandatory to wear masks. But many students still choose to wear masks. Some students wear masks because they want to. Some students wear masks because they are afraid of getting sick. And some kids wear masks because they are not comfortable showing their faces, especially if they have teenage acne.
