Zero Hour Classes

At McAuliffe, there are certain people who use their time in the morning, taking zero-hour classes and enrichments. Zero Hour classes are classes that you can take before school that enhance your learning and they can be educational, fun, or even interesting. Zero-hour classes allow us to expand our learning environments with other grades and experiences. These classes are just like after-school classes but they can fit into your sports schedules and home life, before school instead of after.

Zero-hour classes can have many positive aspects but can also come with tediousness and difficulty. Zero-hour classes include advanced language, mathematics, chess, and some classes even help you with academic support.

Let’s talk about the pros and cons. These classes take time and energy. Zero-hour classes could be your jam if you have early-morning energy and a good attitude! If you make time for zero-hour classes before school, then there will be a chance that you will be put in a class with people from other grades, which will not only help make friends in other parts of school but they will expand your knowledge and experience in different parts of the school with other communities.

From people coming with experience, Diego Pulgarin, formerly known as Señor Pulgarin, spoke to us about his opinions and thoughts on teaching a Zero Hour Spanish class. One of the things he said was that he thought that looking into one and maybe finding one you liked could be beneficial to your social life and even academic struggles. He also said that taking an enrichment in the morning could start off your day with something fun, such as sports and crafts, which are some of the more popular enrichments.

We also looked into another teacher who does Zero Hour classes and has a big opinion and impact on our classes in general. Mr. E spoke to us about his opinion on the emotional take with these classes. He said that he always tries to start his morning off with a smile or a laugh and that it gets his brain working before the big day begins.

Knowing the fun and welcoming personalities of Mr. E and Prof. Pulgarin, those opinions could make me think about my zero-hour classes and the thoughts I have about them.

We think that zero-hour classes really starts our day off well and get out yawns and complaints before the long day begins. It can also be a very productive way to start the day off with something creative like doing a zero-hour class or an enrichment. Zero Hour classes can also be very hard but overall, they are fun and relaxing even though a bit more work.

So at the end of the day, if you are taking a zero-hour class or an enrichment, then just think about it as an opportunity to meet new people and expand your horizons.
