Jeremiah Or Conrad: The Summer I Turned Pretty

Jeremiah+Or+Conrad%3A+The+Summer+I+Turned+Pretty

The beloved book series  “The Summer I Turned Pretty” by Jenny Han, became a popular summer TV show. It is about a 16-year-old girl named Isabella “Belly” Conklin who falls in love with her mother’s best friend’s sons. She has always been in love with Conrad Fisher but she begins to have feelings for his younger brother Jeremiah Fisher.  Jeremiah is the sweet sunshine boy while Conrad is secretive and caring. Throughout the show, Belly develops a strong bond with both of the Fisher boys. Jeremiah flirts with everyone and is very social.  Conrad is extroverted and quiet. In Season 2, both are there for Belly in different ways; Jeremiah is there for her as a best friend and Conrad is in a shallow relationship.

Season 2 relieved who was truly there for Belly after Susannah Fisher’s ( Jeremiah and Conrad’s Mom) death.  Once their mother dies Conrad quickly shuts down and  Jeremiah has lots of anger. Belly truly loses her best friend and childhood crush. Throughout both seasons Belly is indecisive about which boy she wants to spend her future with. But, fans of the show have two different sides; Team Conrad and Team Jeremiah.  Which is better: a sweet social or caring extrovert?  Jeremiah’s pros are that he is supportive, social, easygoing, and playful. The cons of Jeremiah are very sensitive, shut down easily, and indecisive. Pros of Conrad are listening, knowing the small facts about Belly, and caring. Conrad’s cons are ignoring Belly, extroverted, moody, and emotionally unstable. Both boys have different and available qualities to support Belly.

Overall, if you haven’t watched it you should. Season 3 will be coming out in the summer of 2024. The show is very good and shows what love can do to teenagers.
