The assistant principals of McAuliffe International School shared some fun facts about their academic careers and personal lives!

When the principals were asked, “What made you want to work here?” Mrs. Massey (6th-grade assistant principal) and Mr. Johnson (8th-grade assistant principal) shared the common answer that they “heard great things about the school and its reputation”. Mrs. Frenzel (7th-grade assistant principal) said that she “loves the kids, the parents, and the staff!”

When the McAuliffe assistant principals were asked “What made you want to be an assistant principal?” Mrs. Massey replied, “I had a bad experience with school, and I wanted to make that experience better for other kids.” Mrs. Frenzel shared that she “wanted to help kids solve their problems” and, Mr Johnson said that he “was a teacher before, and the people who [he] worked with said [he] would be a good leader.” 

“Did you teach anywhere before McAuliffe?” Mrs. Massey said that she worked at Denver Discovery School, previously located on the grounds of Swigert Elementary. Mrs. Frenzel worked at Grant Elementary, Annunciation Catholic School, and, she built a school in Kenya. Mr Johnson ran an outdoor education program!

Some fun facts about Mrs. Massey are that her favorite food is sushi, her favorite hobby is puzzling, and something no one knows about her is she is the youngest of 7 kids!

Ms Frenzel loves Japanese food! Some of her favorite hobbies are gardening, baking, reading, and camping. One fun fact about Mrs. Frenzel is that she wanted to be the first female Minnesota Vikings head coach in 8th grade!

Mr. Johnson said that chicken wings are his favorite food, he loves mountain biking, and he feels uncomfortable around apples. He also bungee jumped from one of the world’s largest bungee jumps and swam with great white sharks all in ONE day!
