Fabulous Las Vegas

Fabulous+Las+Vegas

Over Winter break, I visited Las Vegas, and it definitely lives up to its reputation (of being amazing!). Some people may say Las Vegas is a place mainly for adults because of the clubs and gambling, but it turns out it is also a great place for middle schoolers to visit.

First Impressions When I Arrived

When I first got to Las Vegas after my quick flight from Denver, it looked amazing. You sort of get this awestruck feeling when you see all the lights. It’s very colorful and super cool at night because of all the big signs and the lights on the hotels. It still looks really cool in the daytime.

Hotels in Las Vegas

Before I get into this, I must say that there are at least a dozen hotels on the Strip (Las Vegas Boulevard), which is the main road through the resort area.  I really like Las Vegas hotels because a lot of them are themed and offer a wide variety of activities. I stayed in the Venetian resort, which I thought was really cool because it was designed to look like Venice, Italy. For example, it had ceilings that looked like the sky and a canal running through the resort.  People were taking gondola rides on the canal.

My favorite hotel in Las Vegas is the New York, New York resort because it is designed to look like downtown Manhattan.  When you walk inside, it seems like buildings are inside the hotel. The main attraction is the Big Apple roller coaster.  It goes inside and outside of the building and is an epic, wild coaster that reaches speeds of up to 67 miles per hour on its biggest drop. When I went on the Big Apple Coaster, it was pretty intense, and it is a lot bigger than it looks, but it is still incredibly fun for roller coaster enthusiasts.

What I Think You Should Do in Las Vegas

I believe that if you are in Las Vegas, you should definitely have some of the amazing food.  It all tastes really good, and you can try a variety of different cultures’ food.  While I was there, I had burgers, dim sum, Popeye’s, gelato, and crepes.  Personally, my favorite place is in the Venetian resort, and it is a Mexican place named Canonita. It served incredible food and reasonable prices.

I also believe that while you are there, you should check out the different themed hotels because there are a lot of fun things you can do in them. For example, there are huge shopping malls in places like Caesars Palace, the Aria, and the Venetian. They also have a Paris-themed resort with its own Eiffel Tower.  The resorts all have pools for warmer weather.

Conclusion

Even though Las Vegas is known for its casinos and gambling (also adult themes), it is still an amazing place for kids to visit. You should go to Fabulous Las Vegas!
