Qdoba Review

Qdoba is a well-known international Mexican restaurant chain with around a thousand locations, founded in Denver, Colorado in 1995. They also sell alcohol but the environment can be suitable for any type of group or couple.

I recently went to a location near my house in Northfield which had only been open for a couple of months. I’ve gone to Qdoba many times since I was young, but even after becoming older and bigger, they continue to not give me enough food. From outside, the Qdoba didn’t look like much, but once I walked through the door, I was greeted by a woman behind the counter. The restaurant was very clean and had a warm feeling. There were multiple other families there, one family was catering, one was about to order their food, and the other families were sitting down and eating. I walked up to order my food but the woman kindly told me and the family in front of me to give her a minute. I was in no rush so I waited for her to be ready. She waited about 5 minutes for a man to come out and he apologized to me for the wait. I was assuming that it was the woman’s first day because the man was helping her learn how to do everything.

The woman went to the family in front of me and the man went to help me. I began my order by getting a burrito with white rice, black beans, chicken, salsa verde, lettuce, and guacamole (I have no idea why I like this, it sounds very bland). I was a little annoyed because while ordering my burrito, the man just walked away to help the woman and came back a minute later, but it wasn’t a very big deal.

Once I got to the counter, I also ordered some tortilla chips and a sprite. The man began to start a conversation with me, but I was only thinking about my food so I used one-word answers. The order was about $14 which I think was a very decent price.

I started my meal with the tortilla chips. The bottom of the bag was soaked in oil so I was both excited and a little worried. The chips were very crispy but about ¾ of them had no flavor at all and the other ¼ were loaded with salt. Luckily, the burrito saved the meal. All of the food seemed fresh, warm, and delicious. The sprite was also very good but obviously nothing I’ve never tasted before.

My recommendation is that Qdoba is a very nice restaurant and has something for everyone, with delicious, fresh food. The service is kind and I would always love to go back. So, I would give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
