Mike the headless chicken is a world wide known chicken who had his head sliced off but still lived for 18 more months before finally dying on March 17, 1947 and in Fruita, Colorado. The day Mike died there was a festival called, Mike the Headless Chicken Day.  

Mike’s head was sliced at an angle that missed his brain in his earlobe because the owner wanted to leave a big neck for his mother in law and just that saved his life because of that he was able to function because of his brain in the ear that was not cut off.  .Mike was unable to eat or drink by himself so his owner fed him with an eye drop for water and grain to make sure he lived as long as he was able to. Mike didn’t die because of a blood clot and just that saved his life cause it stopped him from bleeding to death.
