U.S. Soccer Team Turns Upside-Down After Third Straight Loss

Molly Dirst, Sports Reporter

The United States Women’s Soccer Team has lost three matches, in an unsettling manner. For the first time since the early 1990s, the USWNT ( United States Women’s National Team) lost their exhibition match against Germany on Thursday, November 10, 2022, with a score of 2-1.  The U.S. has not lost three games in a row since 1993, but the match against Germany was predicted for a draw until they scored an unanswered goal in the second half.

But why are these losses happening, is it the pressure of the series of matches that they are participating in? Are there issues with the coaching from the head coach, Vlatko Andonovski? Vlatko Andonovski states,” It is very disappointing, there is no question about it.” The timing of this losing streak does not comply well with the stars and stripes fans. This team has a reputation for being world cup winners, but with the way they are currently playing, is that going to be possible?

The team has become an inspiration and love to soccer fans, due to the level of skill on the team, which affects their winning reputation. But this isn’t a letdown for the team. The players come from the NWSL ( National Women’s Soccer League) carrying the improvement from that experience after the Portland Thorns are the champions of the league.

With the opportunity of the world cup, waiting for special teams, to qualify for the title, the USWNT will continue to enhance for the title, again!
