Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan was shot in the leg at a rally on Thursday. According to the officials at the rally, Khan was shot when a gunman opened fire on people in the rally and that was when he got hit in the foot.

The former Pakistan cricket captain was taken from the rally site just outside of the town of Gujranwala to get treatment in Lahore which was a two-and-a-half-hour drive away. Khan was getting surgery while six others were waiting for treatment who were injured due to the gunman. At least one person died at the rally.

A man suspected of firing shots at the rally was detained on Thursday. The man who was suspected of the shooting was found with a 9mm pistol and two empty magazines. That is the main reason why he is being detained right now. After word got out in Pakistan they assumed that they tried to kill their old prime minister so protests broke out causing a chaos in the streets.
