To build enthusiasm for the 2022 World Cup games in Qatar this fall, FIFA has announced the official group assignments for the 32 nations participating in the finals bracket where the first games will be played on November 20.

Announced on October 6, the U.S was ranked 16th among the entire field of 32 teams. They were assigned to Group B which includes three other teams which are England, Wales, and Iran. The U.S will play its first game on November 21 against Wales.

Out of the 211 teams playing in the world cup, only 32 teams were selected to be in the final bracket. The top-rated teams were assigned to one of eight groups, each consisting of four national teams in total.

After defeating the many of top ten teams in this tournament, Brazil has overall been ranked number one. Brazil has three very dangerous players including Alisson Becker, Neymar, and Vinícius Júnior who are expected to lead the team to several victories.

Worldwide, many countries are betting on Brazil to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Brazil who has been one of the most successful teams is looking to win their 6th world cup title.

However, Brazil is not the only team to watch. Argentina, for example, is ranked 3rd and is a deadly team overall. Led by someone who is largely considered to be one of the best players in soccer today, Lionel Messi hopes to lead his team to victory in his potential last World Cup.

Another top-10 team, France, is looking to win the FIFA World Cup two times in a row. They have good potential to win again as they are barely behind the top three teams in the field.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is being played in Qatar this year, and the championship game will be hosted at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor. The next World Cup will be hosted in the Americas in various cities across the U.S, Canada, and Mexico.
