Best Place to Ski and Snowboard

McAullife’s favorite place to ski and snowboard is Breckenridge. In a recent poll with 161 votes, 55 voted for Breckenridge. Breckenridge will open this year on November 11, 2022. They average 300 inches of snowfall per year. There are a total of 187 runs and there is a big variety in the runs. There are very few beginner runs and mostly have intermediate or advanced runs, 31 percent are blue runs and 34% are double black runs. They have a run that goes for 3.4 miles and you can ski down to the parking lot. There is a new chairlift coming this new ski season. As of now, there are 5 different peaks to ski on. 

Winter park was voted the best ski resort by about 26% of people. Winter park averages 344.6 inches of snow per season. This is a great skiing place for advanced skiers, 52% of the runs are advanced runs. There are 23 lifts going to 166 runs. McAullife student Gavin said, “Winter park has an amazing skiing mountain but has terrible food.” 

Vail came in 3rd place getting only 35 voters. Vail is the most know ski mountain in Colorado. They get about 189.2 inches of snowfall every year. McAullife student Adam said, “I like Vail because it has a variety of runs and is one of the few places in the world where we have bowls.” In last place was Copper with only 29 votes. Copper only averages 159 inches of snowfall. There are 140 trails with 23 lifts and is top 10 in the biggest mountain in Colorado.
