Hurricane Ian Makes Landfall in Southwest of Florida

The eye of hurricane Ian made landfall a little north of Fort Myers, at Port Charlotte, and caused devastating damage and flooding. This devastating hurricane will continue for 2 days and continue to move to northwest Florida. The hurricane is category four, and is life threatening for those who choose to stay near Fort Myers and that area. Ian has winds up to 140 mph.
Tampa bay is also devastated by Ian as water levels are 6 feet below average and many parts in Tampa bay are dried out. Heavy rainfall also threatens the Carolina’s that could also cause flash flooding. There is also a hurricane warning issued for the areas of the coast of South Carolina. Northeast South Carolina is forecast to have 4 to 8 inches of rain, and up to 12 inches locally. Central South Carolina and North Carolina and south Virginia is supposed to have up to 4 to 8 inches of rain and 12 inches locally.
There are also a few tornadoes that are forecast to happen today in eastern South Carolina, eastern North Carolina, and southeastern Virginia. Tropical storm warnings continue in the eastern part of Georgia.
