Serena’s Retirement

September 28, 2022
Serena Williams announced retirement on Sep 2, 2022, at the U.S open because she wanted to explore her other passions, Serena was in a vogue Magazine and that’s how she told everybody.
Serena said that she has ”never liked the word retirement,” and preferred the word “evolution” to explain what she’s doing next. She was 17 when she won her first Grand Slam singles title in 1999 and leapfrogged over her sister and claimed the family’s first grand slam championship.
Serena also wants to expand her family but she does not want it to interfere with tennis, she said “I definitely don’t want to be pregnant again as an athlete. I need to be two feet into tennis or two feet out.”
Serena Williams either wants to be all the way in or all the way out but she wants to expand her family and spend more time with them. She loves tennis and is amazing at it but she wants to work on being a better and more amazing mom.
