Healthiest Human Food for Dogs Pt. 2

Zora Hesselberth, Writer

Today I am going to do Part 2 of the healthiest human food for dogs. There are a few poisonous foods for dogs but most are ok, but this is an article about ones that are the safest and maybe even healthy for your little pup!

First is peanut butter, unsalted peanut butter with no sugar or sweeteners is moderately safe for dogs. Peanut butter has vitamins B and E, healthy fats, and protein. Although before you give this to your dog check to make sure that it does not have a sweetener in it called xylitol, which is highly toxic to dogs.

Next is watermelon, watermelon is safe for dogs to eat without the rind and seeds. Seeds can block the intestines and the rine can cause an upset stomach. Watermelon has a high water content so it can keep your dog hydrated. It also has vitamins A, C, and B-6.

Lastly is apples, apples can give a good source of vitamins to a dog such as A and C. These are also a good source of fiber to help with a dog’s digestive system. However, making sure the apple is fresh for rotten apples can lead to alcohol poisoning. It is also ok to keep the peel on for a small snack but make sure to remove the peel, seeds, and core if feeding a large amount.
