Mint Oreo Pie:

By: Grace Dale

note: so if you read my last article you know that it was about a regular oreo ice cream pie and I said I was going to make a Mint Oreo ice cream pie so I will deliver.

so the ingredients that you need is:

for the Crust:
15 Mint Creme Oreos
1 tbsp. butter, melted

the Ice Cream part:
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract (or mint)
2-3 drops green food coloring (optional)
6 to 8 broken Mint Creme Oreos

How to Make it:

Crush 15 cookies in a food processor. Add melted butter and combine. Press cookie crumbs into the bottom of a 7-inch springform pan. Use the bottom of a glass to press the crumbs firmly in place.

Chill pan in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, combine milk, sugar, and salt. Whisk on low speed until sugar is dissolved. Stir in heavy cream and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours or overnight. Pour mixture into ice cream maker and let mix until thickened, about 20 to 25 minutes. Add the broken mint Oreos into the ice cream when there are about 5 minutes of mixing left. Fill ice cream into the springform pan, cover, and freeze until set.

My review:

I personally liked this pie better than the regular oreo pie because I liked mint but that might just be me, I thought that this was a really good tasting pie and I like that this pie looks so green ( if you add the food coloring ) it’s just such a vibrate pie. So I actually was able to make two because of the size of my pan so you might make two if your pan is smaller. If you want like me I did put four Oreos on the top of my pie just like in the picture.

And if you don’t know what a springform pan is it’s pretty much just a circle pan.
