Do carrots actually help with improving your eyesight?

Ever since we were young, our parents would always tell us to eat carrots to improve our eyesight, especially people with bad eyesight would hear this all the time.

But is this true?

The simple answer is no. Eating carrots would of course keep you healthy, but it does not help to improve your eyesight by eating a few bites of carrots a day. Eating carrots will only help improve your eyesight if you eat 27 full carrots a day.

Then what fruits/vegetables help you improve your eyesight?

Green leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, and collards are well known to be good for improving your eyesight. Oranges and other citrus fruits/juices are helpful as well. Oily fish like salmon and tuna, all of these foods that are easy to find are helpful in improving your eyesight.
