Dever Broncos running back Melvin Gordon charged for going 71 miles per hour (mph) in a 35 mph zone in downtown Denver. However, Gordon’s charges were dropped on March 10th, Wednesday morning in Denver County Court.

Gordon was arrested on October 13th, 2020. Gordon was held out of one practice by Bronco head coach Vic Fangio following the arrest, but he returned to the team for the remainder of the 2020 football season. Gordon refused to take the Breathalyzer test (A type of test performed on-air generated from the act of exhalation. Breathalyzer a legal breath test to determine if a person is driving under the influence of alcohol).

Two weeks after Gordon’s arrest he says, “I’m sorry I was even in this situation… obviously I try my best to walk a straight line and lead by example, things like that. I’m a little upset I put myself in that situation.” On Wednesday, March 10th, Gordon pleaded guilty to lessen the charges of reckless driving.
