Video Game Reviews

This is Isaiah Wimbs here with the seventh episode of this hopefully ongoing series where I review different video games. Let’s plug in the speakers and get some microphones and let’s review Friday Night Funkin (Quick disclaimer this game is rated Teen but nothing too bad happens and I assume that you are at least 12 years old so you’ll be fine)

The Team

Friday Night Funkin was released on November 1, 2020, and was made by ninjamuffin99, evilsk8r, and KawaiSprite

The Design

In FNF, you play as the creatively named Boyfriend trying to impress Girlfriend (It’s like they were born for each other) in rap battles. FNF is a rhythm game like Guitar Hero, PaRappa the Rapper, and Crypt of the NecroDancer. This game Is especially like Guitar Hero in the fact that you sync up notes with icons specifically the Left, Right, Up, and Down buttons. The game has a lot of style first there are the cartoony sprites… I love them They are downright cute at times they really get their emotions across too you can see how Girlfriend is pretty neutral about everything that is happening currently.

The Singers

They are great and have a lot of variety even making cameos from other games and youtube videos Pico, for example, is from Picos School and Skid and Pump are from the Spooky Month series. They all have unique voices that they use while battling it really adds to the charm of the game and their overall character but you can’t have a rhythm game without this. I am talking about…

The Music

The background music is good but it only stays good if you have the singing with it I listened to the music without the singing and it just doesn’t give the same energy. In other words, if it doesn’t have the beep I might as well go to sleep. But the music does a good job at backing the singing.

Overall

Overall FNF is a fun game with good music and characters. The best part is that you could go and play this game RIGHT NOW (Assuming you don’t use a school computer). That’s all for this episode buckaroos! See you again today, tomorrow, or anytime convenient for you! Bye!

Bonus! Mods

Yo. I didn’t plan to add this segment but before I got this published I decided to add this segment. There are a lot of mods for this game. And I might add that most (Especially ones made by KadeDev) are challenging. We got Whitty, Hex, Tricky, Foolhardy, Mid-fight, and even B-Sides if you have already beaten all the levels and need a challenge, look at some mods, you won’t regret it.
