Car Crash into Outdoor Dining Area Injures 8

A collision sent a car barreling into an outdoor dining area in New York City Friday morning, flinging debris and wounding eight people, officials said.


In Midtown Manhattan, just after 8:30 a.m, a man in a white van collided with a Toyota Camry Sent the Camry spiraling into an outdoor dining area causing a lot of damage. Law enforcement officials said.


The white van drove another block before coming to a stop

The outdoor dining area itself was unoccupied but the debris hit a 5-year-old boy and a 7-year-old boy. Six adults were hurt including pedestrians and people who were in the Camry . The 66-year-old van driver was rushed to the hospital because of a medical episode.

The sidewalk shed suffered damage from the crash but did not fall, the building was not impacted and has suffered no damage.
