Trump Impeached Again

Trump Impeached Again

Donald Trump became the first president to be impeached twice after he was accused of inciting insurrection at the capitol on January 6th.

On January 13th the house impeached Trump with the charge of “incitement of insurrection”. The article of impeachment included statements he made before the insurrection like “If you don’t fight like hell your not going to have a country anymore”.

Trump’s lawyers and most republicans agree that they should not be having an impeachment trial because he is no longer president. 45 republican senators signed a motion before the trial saying that it is unconstitutional and he should not be impeached.

For Trump to be convicted they need 67 out of 100 votes. If the results are anything else the case will be acquitted.

The trial will start on Tuesday, February 9th, and will have democratic senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont presiding.
