Rocky Road Brownies

Delaney Martin

Today I will be making rocky road brownies. You should definitely try this recipe if you like rocky road flavored things, or if you are bored of making just regular brownies. The ingredients I used for this recipe are 2 cups of butter, 8 oz of semi sweet chocolate bar squares, 2 cups of sugar, 1 cup of packed brown sugar, 8 eggs, 2 Tbsp. of cocoa powder, 1 ½ Tbsp. vanilla extract, 2 cups of flour, 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips, 2 cups of nuts (I used walnuts, but any kind of nut works), 4 cups of mini marshmallows, and I used a little bit of powdered sugar to top the brownies. This recipe also requires an oven and a saucepan. The first thing I did was preheat my oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Then, in a medium saucepan, I melted the butter and chocolate squares over medium heat, and once they were done melting, I waited for them to cool before adding my next ingredients. Once everything was cooled, I added the sugars (brown and white sugar), eggs, and cocoa powder to the pan with the melted chocolate and butter, and mixed that all together. Next, I stirred the vanilla, flour, chocolate chips, and nuts into the mixture. In a greased, large baking pan, I sprinkled the mini marshmallows until they covered the bottom of the pan. Then, I poured my batter into the pan with the marshmallows. After that, I baked them at 350 degrees fahrenheit for an hour. Once they were done baking, I let them cool for about ten minutes. Lastly, I cut the baked brownie mixture into bars and topped them with powdered sugar (I didn’t measure I just did a little amount). They tasted delicious! I personally love the flavor rocky road and so I loved the taste, and I liked how the nuts were hard and crunchy, and the brownie and marshmallows were soft. I also like how the brownies were a little sweet and had flavor, but weren’t too sweet. This recipe made a little bit of a mess but not a lot. The brownies do take a while to bake, but the part where I added the ingredients together did not take too long. I would rate this recipe a 9 out of 10, and I would definitely recommend trying this recipe.
