Anniversary of Star Basketball Player Kobe Bryant’s Death

After a freak helicopter crash, on January 26, 2020, it took the lives of former star basketball player Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi along with seven others on the crash after visibility dropped and the pilot lost control, in Calabasas California. This took place nearly 30 miles north of Los Angeles. People are celebrating him and what he stood for now on the anniversary of his death. They were in the helicopter on that day to get to Gigi’s basketball practice on time. One of the 7 seven who lost their lives was Gigi’s coach. This sent shockwaves throughout the sports world and significantly affected sports and the NBA in particular.

Bryant played for the LA Lakers for 20 years from 1996 and 2016 and won 5 championships with him where he solidified his place among the best to play the game. But he wasn’t just a player. He influenced many things outside of the sport. Bryant affected film with his award winning short film Dear Basketball and multiple businesses. He has many controversies, but did a lot of good in the world.

Bryant won his first three Championships in 2000, 2001, and 2002 with the help of Shaquille O’Neal. He later won in 2009, and 2010. He also scored the second most points by an individual player ever with 81 only second to Wilt Chamberlain’s 100. But not only was he known for his Basketball he also had shoe’s and films and businesses until he became more of an icon.

Kobe Bryant’s legacy will not be forgotten for all he has done for Basketball and the sporting world as a whole and it was such an unfortunate event that took his life. Bryant is left behind by his wife Vanessa and his daughters.
