Peppermint Cake

The holidays are coming up and we don’t all celebrate the same holidays. But it is the time of year where you might want a nice and comforting flavor. I think that peppermint is a great flavor for that. The cake is also a nice thing that is quicker than some other desserts to make. So why not peppermint cake?

  • box of white cake mix
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 TBSP peppermint extract
  • 1 1/2-2 cups crushed peppermint candies

  • 1/2 cup ( 1 stick ) butter, softened
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 2-3 TBSP milk

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 2-9 inch round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add in the dry white cake mix. Then, add in melted butter, egg whites, milk, water, and peppermint extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour evenly into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  5. Let cakes cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans.
  6. Then, cool completely before frosting.

  1. Beat butter until fluffy. Gradually, add in powdered sugar. Then, add in milk and peppermint.
  2. Adding/subtracting milk to achieve desired consistency.
  3. Frost bottom layer on the cake. Then, sprinkle with 1/2 of crushed peppermint pieces.
  4. Top with the remaining layer of cake and frosting.
  5. Sprinkle the top of the cake with the remaining peppermint candies.

This would be a fun and easy cake to make with family and/or friends for the holidays and a good thing to enjoy in your time off. There are many more desserts that would be great for the holidays just as much as this one.
