Masters But in November

Masters But in November

The Masters golf tournament started on Nov. 12 and was a great tournament with many great participants, while Tiger Woods attempted to defend his title, in Augusta National, after it was delayed multiple times due to Covid-19. After an incredible four rounds of golf Dustin Johnson won the tournament 20 under and set a Masters record for 4 rounds. Runner up was a tie between C. Smith and S.J. Im at 15 under. Smith also set a record and had every single round under 70.

It was an exciting tournament with many great shots and stories with an outstanding finish. One player that was expected to perform highly was Bryson DeChambeau, but he did not and this was due to a sickness, not Covid-19 he was Coronavirus tested and it came back negative, that caused him dizziness and caused this underwhelming play. He ended the weekend at two under. Another exciting story was Bernhard Langer, who is now the oldest player to make the cut at the Masters at 63 years old and he even out played DeChambeau. Woods was a slight contender after the first three rounds, but on Sunday he scored a ten on one of the holes and this brought him back, he ended with a one under final score.

The total purse of the Masters is 11 Million and first place prize is 2.07 million. Of course we don’t have the exact numbers for this year but these were last year’s stats, so they should transfer well. The tournament was an overall entertaining performance from all players with a great ending and stories throughout, finishing in Masters history.
