Moderna, a American biotechnology company that focuses on drug discovery, drug development, and vaccine technologies, is working on a new vaccine for Covid 19.

The new Vaccine if approved, will be given around Dec. 21. Moderna says that the vaccine will be 94.1 percent effective, and that the study of 30,000 people has met all the requirements for if the vaccine works.

So far Moderna is on track to produce 20 million doses by the end of December, and 500 million to a billion in 2021.

The first doses of the vaccine will be given to certain groups that are at a high risk, or have an essential job like healthcare workers. F.D.A workers will examine the vaccine and make the decision of whether it is safe by December 17. The vaccine will be given out as soon as 24 hours after the good to go by the F.D.A. The operation is hoped to be very speedy. To add on the United States has committed up to $1.525 billion to buy 100 million doses.
