United States Presidential Election

United States Presidential Election

Oliver Atkins, Writer

This year has been a special year for voters, with two very different candidates. Incumbent President Donald Trump and Democratic Nominee Joe Biden are almost tied up, with Biden having a small lead in electoral votes. Certain states such as Michigan, Wisconsin, and Philadelphia are very important for each candidate. These states are on the fence between going red or blue and unlike certain states like California, which is a historically democratic state. The candidates are heavily campaigning in these states, and using all their tricks to win voters over. Election day is tomorrow, November 3rd, but votes will continue to be counted up to weeks after the election.

UPDATE: Joe Biden won the election by getting 290 electoral votes. There is lots of turmoil on social media platforms and there are accusations by the Republican Party of voter fraud, although that claim is disputed and proven to be very unlikely. The Trump administration has filed many lawsuits around voter fraud, which is still debatable and under investigation.
