Iverson played for the Georgetown Hoyas and legendary coach John Thompson. Though he only played there for two years, Iverson still got his team to the elite eight in the NCAA tournament. After that, he got drafted 1st overall in  1996 by the Philadelphia 76ers which was amazing because he was only 6 feet tall and still a 1st overall pick.

Iverson was named the NBA Rookie of the Year in the 1996–97 season. A four-time scoring champion, winning the NBA scoring title during the 1998–99, 2000–01, 2001–02, and 2004–05 seasons, despite his relatively small stature being 6 feet 0 inches. His regular-season career scoring average of 26.7 points per game ranks seventh all-time, and his playoff career scoring average of 29.7 points per game is second only to Michael Jordan who had 33.4 points per game in the playoffs. Iverson was also the NBA Most Valuable Player of the 2000–01 season and led his team to the 2001 NBA Finals the same season.

After Allen Iverson left the 76er’s he played for the Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies, and the Detroit Pistons and ended his career in 2013 and got inducted into the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. He wore the number 3 his whole career but when he played in the Olympics in 2004 he wore number 4 and won the bronze medal. His iconic nicknames were AI and The Answer that he got from his amazing passing and shooting as both a shooting guard and point guard.

Allen Iverson didn’t have any big injuries that caused him to stop playing basketball for a long period of time. This is what made him able to play 14 seasons of basketball and become such an inspirational and influential player in the NBA!
