Julia Gorges Retires From Tennis

 

The 31 year old Julia Gorges retires from tennis after telling the world about it on Instagram. `Gorges, reaching out to her fans on Instagram, writing a letter to tennis, explaining that she will be leaving tennis, and “starting a new chapter in her life. Gorges has a career high ranking of number nine in the world, and has a total of 12 singles titles. Good German, Had her best result in a Grand Slam at Wimbledon in 2018, where she lost to Serena Williams. Also, in 2019 Gorges defeated Bianca Andresscu to defend her title in Auckland. She has a 27-9 record in Auckland, and has set a record for the most wins in tournament history.

 

On Wednesday, October 20th, Julia Gorges has announced her retirement through Instagram. She wrote a letter 2 tennis, stating “Dear tennis, I am writing to you because I am ready to say goodbye. When I first started tennis at the age of five, I never thought we would go this far together.” Gorges also explains that tennis has brought her many emotions, and has taught her how to handle the biggest defeats. “I am ready to close out the tennis chapter in my life, and start a new one, which I am very excited though.
