Have you ever wondered what some of the most unhealthy foods are in the U.S. This article may surprise you if you drink sodas! 


The first food is sugary drinks, though everyone loves them. This is because they have a LOT of added sugar. Added sugar can lead to many health problems such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and weight gain. Sodas with sugar also have tons of calories even though they are thought of as a food. This can lead to drastically increase in calorie intake and obesity. Also if in large quantities sugar can drive insulin resistance and that is the cause of fatty liver disease. If you want a soda try some alternatives such as water, coffee or tea!


Second on the list is pizza. This is one of the world’s most popular junk foods! If not eaten in moderation (not all at once) it can create sleep problems and a long digestion. Pizza can also lead to obesity and cardiovascular disease. Most commercial pizzas are made with unhealthy and fatty ingredients. If you still love pizza, you can put in the effort to make a homemade pizza which is much healthier for your digestion. Some pizza restaurants have options for healthier ingredients. 


The third food is white bread. Commercial breads are very unhealthy if eaten in large quantities. They are made up of a thing called refined wheat. Refined wheat is low in fibers that the body needs and may lead to spikes in blood sugar. This can lead to obesity, diabetes and heart disease. White bread can also contain unhealthy amounts of salt. This can cause a heart attack or stroke. Some healthier alternatives are whole-grain bread or homemade bread.
