Freedom of Speech

Freedom of Speech

Kairine Brown, Writer

I want to get out of this chair. I want to go outside and be free from this screen. I want to be free of always having to be correct. I want to be free of expectations and disappointed faces. I want people to appreciate me for trying my best instead of shaming me about doing something wrong and not even smiling when I do something well. I want to be free of time and schedules. I want to be free of having something controlling my life. I am tired of being in an endless cycle of getting up and doing the same thing over and over again. I am tired of looking forward to Friday and Saturday. I want to look forward to every day but I can’t because I am held down by schedules and expectations. I am tired of watching the news and having it all be negative and horrible. I want to have a happier world where there is no violence or pollution. This of course is practically impossible. Everyone should try their best to help clean up messes and world pollution. We should build each other up and help people stay positive instead of bullying and being mean to people, shaming people for things that they might not be able to control. We should always choose kindness and positivity instead of dirty and shameful looks. Everyone should be treated as equals. We should stop raising animals in small areas and then slaughtering them. We should care about ourselves, animals, and others around us. We should appreciate everyone and everyone’s contribution to making this world a better place. From truck drivers to janitors, from health care works to cleaning maids. We should thank everyone whenever we get the chance. Everyone is valuable, everyone is current, everyone is important. Be present, you have a voice. You have been given the opportunity to use your voice and get out there and change the world. Use your voice.
