Garfield is a comic book series with over 75 books! It is about a cat named Garfield who is very fat and loves to eat everything especially junk food like pizza, ice cream and burgers. He lives with a dull person named Jon who Garfield enjoys aggravating, and an incredibly stupid dog named Odie, who Garfield mails to foregin countries and wraps in a rug to shove him in the top shelf of the hall closet. Other characters include an incredibly cute kitten, named Nermal who Garfield despises and Dr. Liz Wilson, Garfield’s vet who Jon frequently tries to get a date with. 

Jim Davis (the author) started writing Garfield on June 25, 1978. It continues to be written today. Garfield was originally in newspapers and it has been in 2,580 of them! Making Garfield the world’s most widely syndicated comic strip. Common themes in the strip include Garfield’s laziness, obsessive eating, love of coffee and lasagna, disdain of Mondays, and diets. Garfield merchandise makes $750 million to $1 billion annually. There are countless different video games, tv shows and movies about garfield. Most of which have bad ratings. 

In conclusion, Garfield is a very funny comic that has made millions of people around the world happy.
