Miami Heat’s Improbable Run to the NBA Finals

Mac Shaw, Writer

The Miami Heat made it all the way to the NBA Finals, to face the LA Lakers, after an improbable run beating team after team. They were the 3 seed in the Eastern Conference, were considered low-end contenders, but were not expected to make it as far as they did. This success can be attributed to multiple things, such as great off season moves, players emerging as stars, and a great coach in Erik Spoelstra. Even though they did not win it all they had huge success.

They beat multiple teams that were expected to make it to the finals, yet they defied odds and beat them. These teams include the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics. The Bucks were considered the best team in the East, yet they lost in 5 games to the Heat. They also beat the Celtics in 6 games.

This success was because of the outstanding play of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, and many more. These players had breakout years, and Butler was signed in the off-season after a great season with the 76ers. Adebayo, was an All-Star this season after he played very well in the start of the season. Along with this Herro was a rookie and was on a historic run of scoring for a player under 20 in the playoffs.

All being said, even though they didn’t come out on top, they had an incredible season, with breakout years and great performances.
