My Family Pumpkin Roll

Every year my mom makes us a pumpkin roll and it is so good and now I will pass on her recipe so that you can try it and love it too.


1 cup of sugar

2/3 cup canned pumpkin

3/4 of cup flour

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp cinnamon

3 eggs

8 oz. cream cheese

1 tsp vanilla

2 tbs margarine

1 cup of powdered sugar


Beat the eggs, gradually adding sugar. Blend in pumpkin, flour, salt, baking soda, and cinnamon. Preheat oven to 370*F degrees. Spread batter on greased wax paper on a cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes. Dust a clean dish towel with powdered sugar. Flip cooked pumpkin roll on to dish towel, remove the wax paper, and roll up in the towel. Make the filling by beating all ingredients together. Unroll the pumpkin roll and spread on filling, re-roll the log, and dust in powdered sugar. Wrap and refrigerate.


          Overall I give this a review of five out of five stars it is wonderful and I absolutely live for it. If there was anything that I could do to improve it I would not because it is perfect just the way it is. If I was going to compare this to a store-bought pumpkin roll from sprouts it would stay at five stars and the sprouts pumpkin roll would get three stars from me because it really was not that good compared to this. I could not even finish a wholes slice because it really just was not that good and it definitely was too thick. So I overall can say that I really love this treat and would definitely recommend it for you to make.

          My brother’s opinion on the pumpkin roll is “ From a rating of one to five stars I rate this pumpkin roll with ten stars it is 100% delicious and I love that it does not have too much cinnamon, unlike the store-bought pumpkin roll I tried. It is too good to be improved except that it needs to be a bigger recipe so I have more to eat.”

          My sister’s opinion is “ I would rate it with four and a half stars it’s delicious. This recipe could not be improved by any measures.”

          My mom who usually makes it says “ I give it five stars! In my opinion, the pumpkin roll is perfect! It combines the sweetness of the cream cheese frosting with just a little spice from the pumpkin spices. I would recommend dusting with powdered sugar just before serving to ensure the powdered sugar doesn’t absorb into the moist pumpkin bread.” 

        And finally, my dogs say’s “ It’s really good I mean the scraps that fall on the floor are anyway. I just can’t get enough of them.” So Overall you can tell that my family really loves this recipe but you try it out and see it for yourself.
