Arsenal’s Transfer Window

Henry Caldwell, Writer

Arsenal’s Transfer window was one to remember. In all Arsenal have signed a total of four players this summer. Including Thomas Partey, Gabriel, Runar Alex Runarsson, and Willian. These are all big signings as Arsenal want to take the next step and return to their old glory.

Arsenal have finally completed the transfer of Thomas Partey. They have been eyeing the Ghanian for the past two years. They paid the release clause of 45 M pounds. Arsenal have desperately needed a defensive midfielder since the likes of Patrick Viera and Emmanuel Petit. However Atletico Madrid (Partey’s former team) are not happy because Arsenal did not inform the club that they were going to activate the clause. Willian who arrived on a free transfer from London rivals Chelsea will have a big impact with the experience and skill he has. He plays on the wing but can also take a more central role and play in the attacking mid position. Gabriel the brazilian center back who came from Lille in the french league is a bright young talent. Arsenal have needed a center back that can play with his feet but also stick a tackle in when needed for a long time. They may have just found what they are looking for. As far as it goes for Runar Alex Runarsson, the gunners sold back up Emiliano Martínez to Aston Villa over the summer so they brought in the youngster to take his spot. Not to mention that Arsenal re-signed their captain and top player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to a new three year deal. Which is huge for the club and their success.

Arsenal have had one of the most exciting transfer windows this summer. The fans are very happy and hope that this can continue to set the pace for the entire season. Will this pay off or will they struggle and not live up to the expectations that have been set on the huge club that Arsenal Football Club are?
