The Underdogs

The Miami Heat are going to the NBA Finals to play against the Lakers in a best of 7 game series. The Fifth game is on Thursday, Oct. 7 at the Bubble at Orlando.

The Heat are the underdogs for different reasons. One reason is that they are not a top 3 seed like the finalists usually are. The Heat are the 5th seed making them only the third team in NBA history to be a 5th or lower seed who got to the Finals.

Another reason is that the Heat are a team without a superstar. The Heat only have two lottery picks. They are Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo who are two of the Heat’s best players. Jimmy Butler is also one of their best players if not the best and he was picked 30 in the 2011 draft. Even some of the Heat’s best players were not even drafted like Duncan Robinson, Derrick Jones Jr. and Kendrick Nunn. Not even the whole team is young like Udonis Haslem who is forty years old.

They are going against the L.A. Lakers who have an all around super team because they have LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Alex Caruso, Dwight Howard, Rajon Rondo, Kyle Kuzma and Danny Green.

For these reasons the Miami Heat are the underdogs in the NBA finals this year.
