Camp Fun

Katherine Essien, Writer

I was with my friends Nina and Cassie when they said we should go to the waterfall in the woods. The thought of that scared me because we knew there were animals in the woods, so I tried to convince them not to, but Nina said I was just scared so I went because I didn’t want them to think I was scared. As we rode our bikes deeper into the woods, we heard loud noises and I was terrified. My friend Cassie noticed and tried to assure me I was ok, but I was still scared. We went for about a mile, then we heard the same sound. At this point I was almost crying. Nina said that we should keep going because we were already close to the waterfall, so I decided to keep going. By the time we got there, it was almost curfew, so we were only able to stay there for 30 minutes, which was a huge let down. When we left it was already 1 hour past curfew, and the Counselor was not happy about it. We told her what happened and she let us off the hook, and luckily no one went home early or got hurt, and I learned not to listen to my friends anymore.
